MAJOR LIFE CHANGES

I've heard that if you, for instance, fall off the Eiffel Tower your life will flash before you on the way down. I'm experiencing some of that same feeling as I prepare for another major life change late in life. In the process of consolidating and disposing of photo albums for which there will not be space in a different home, I've seen my life displayed as I take photos from albums and send them to the trash. It is both a terrible and an emotional process. Terrible because I really hate to throw any of my photos away; emotional because I am replaying both the high points and the low points of 72 years. I have to tell you that I'm cheating a little though. I'm making sure that I have digital copies of my most valued photos in iPhoto before I empty the trash.
