LIVING IN REAL TIME

What time is it?

One of the overlooked benefits of living in Arizona is that the state (with the exception of a few Native American reservations) does not recognize Daylight Savings Time. What this means, of course, is that I didn't have to get up at 2:00 a.m. today to set my clock back, didn't have to remember whether to set it forward or backward. Because Arizona is so different, it is hard to get automatic clocks to recognize it when DST changes. It sure is easier for us Yumans to know what time it is where we are. But it can be difficult for some senior citizens to remember what time it is where the grand kids live on the east coast: is it two or three hours ahead, or maybe behind, AZ time. Luckily my iPod takes care of that for me. Thank goodness for techology!
