There are probably some people in Yuma who are counting the hours until 8:00 a.m. on Friday. That's when the gates to The Community swing open and they can rush in to buy all the "stuff" that residents no longer want or have to get rid of before they can get new "stuff". Every year there is a line of cars outside the gates of this community eagerly awaiting their chance to get the good "stuff". Here its called a patio sale because there are no garages to have a "garage sale" and many of the winter visitors just got here so it can't be called a "moving sale". Another group of people are counting the hours until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday when most buyers will be gone and things in The Community can get back to normal. This group is comprised mainly of the men in The Community who are not attuned to sales of any kind. Some have been heard to say they'd "rather have a root canal than go through a sale." But the wives warn that if they don't help get rid of the "old stuff" there will be no "new stuff". So the guys do their best to stay out of the way only making an appearance if the little woman yells for help. You can tell that some people who live in The Community don't like sales because they drag to the dumpster items that could bring a little at a sale if they were willing to work for it. The timer is running; Friday morning will be here soon enough.
