EVERYTHING NOT ROSY AT THE ROSE PARADE

I went to this year's Rose Parade for the first (and last) time. What I learned there is that, if you are claustrophobic or have a weak bladder, you’d better not get in the cheap seat bleachers. (Cheap being $65.00 for about a foot and a half of space). Once you get in those bleachers there is no escape without disrupting an entire row of people. (Yes, that is me smiling at the camera before I found out just how crowded it was.) There is no leg room so you can't scoot by; everyone has to get up and move. The fellow behind me kept saying "move up" and I kept saying “I’m already in the pocket of the guy in front of me who incidentally stood up for every passing patriotic display. The other thing I learned is that it takes a lot of planning in case of a pending urinary emergency. It not only requires everyone to get up and let you out but you have to anticipate the waiting time for the porta-potties scattered around. An even better thing I learned was, not wanting to face my bleacher buddies again by going back into the bleachers, that there was good ground level standing room available right along the street.
