REMEMBERING THE TERROR
The recent movie "Walking With The Enemy" about the plight of Hungarians during World War II (as many as 600,000 disappeared) recalled memories of a visit to Andrassy ut 60 in Budapest. That unassuming building now houses the Terror Museum. It was the headquarters of the Nazi party in 1940 and its basement was used as a prison and site of execution as shown in the movie. During Communism it was taken over by the hated State Security which was the Hungarian version of the KGB. Thousands of people were tortured here. It was a sad time in the history of Hungary.B
My photos are of the exterior of the building. No photos were permitted inside. They would have been too view anyhow. For more information about the museum go to http://www.terrorhaza.hu/en/index_2.html .
