PATIENCE

Heard a different definition of patience this week. It says: "Patience is the absence of personal irritations." If that is correct I guess I don't have patience. You would think that patience improves as one ages but it just doesn't happen. Perhaps it's because the older you get and the closer to the end you think you have to hurry up and get more things done. Anyhow, I can relate to "personal irritations" every time I get behind a family at the movie theater and the kids are taking what seems like a long time choosing what candy they want. Or when I get behind a woman at the grocery store who waits until the checker finishes tabulating before reaching in her purse to get her checkbook only to find  coupons she forgot to give the checker. Often this same person has to put everything back into its proper spot before clearing the checkout counter. Or when . . . but you can probably guess other times. You just have to tell yourself to relax, you'll get home in time (unless you get behind one of those slow drivers) to catch the game on TV.
