While Vacation Bible School is really designed to teach children about the Bible and the direction it gives for daily living it also can change the lives of the adults who are helping with the event. The theme of our VBS this year was "Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God's People Come Together". It was about our neighbors all over the world and the instruction of Jesus as reported in Matthew: "Therefore, you should treat people in the same way that you want people to treat you". Along with the youngsters we seniors learned, or were reminded, that neighbors are Friendly, Giving, Bold, Forgiving and Welcoming. These are traits we all should practice in dealing with others and I'm sure we all became better neighbors because of VBS.
