I've been worried lately, because of the number of young people I see holding their necks at an odd angle, that there was an epidemic of osteoporosis among the younger generation. I see similar types of posture among my senior friends who are aging faster than they would like. But I've started observing people more closely now and have found that it is not an epidemic of skeletal problems among young adults; it's an epidemic of cell phones. I noticed a young lady in the grocery store the other day who looked from the rear to be a little deformed. When I got around her, however, I realized she just couldn't pick up groceries to put in the cart while chatting on the phone so was holding the phone between her ear and her shoulder so she could shop and take care of the kids at the same time. I guess it's no big problem when you are limber but may be when that woman becomes an "old person" or, to be PC, a "senior citizen." By the way, she was in the cheese aisle and I hope she noticed before she checked out that she had limburger instead of gouda.
