If you can imagine a throng of people wearing ragged jeans and
floppy hats instead of shorts and t-shirts (and ignore the cars) you can imagine what it would have been like in Skagway, Alaska, during the Gold Rush days in the 1890s. Thanks to the National Park Service the main street of the small town looks pretty much now as it might have looked like hundreds of years ago. It's all there: the rustic storefronts, the bars, the brothels (display only) and the large vehicles that once shuttled people around town. It's an amazing step into the past.
