STREET CONFUSION
Whoever laid out the streets in portions of the Yuma Foothills (an unincorporated area) should be forced to find some homes in the Foothills without the benefit of a Google map or a GPS unit. As someone who lives in the far southeast area of the Foothills said recently: "It appears in naming the streets they forgot what numbers they used and then used a change in the road designation to cover the duplication of numbers."
Good luck, for instance, in finding a home on 51st Street (not to be confused with 51st Dr., 51st Ln, or 51st Pl. ). Of course it doesn't make any difference which of the 51st's you are looking for because sections of those can't be reached anyhow from a major thoroughfare. You have to weave through the area using other streets to actually find the short two or three block section you are looking for. Today, for instance, I found that the 14000 block of 51st St. (not to be confused with 51st Dr.) only runs between Chase Way and 141/2 Avenue. (Yes, area avenues are designated with fractions so drivers can know that they are half way or three quarters way to the next north/south road).
It is even more difficult to find someone when they simply say "I live on 51st." Then you have to ask: "Is that street, drive, lane or place?" In some cases even they don't know.
